Abstract
Some authors have already shown that Switzerland has been a key player in the establishment of exchanges at the international scale in football. In this paper, we argue that the actions of the main leaders of the Association Suisse de Football et d’Athlétisme (ASFA) have played an important role in the development of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), from 1904 to 1954. The research is mainly based on a documentation from rich FIFA and ASFA archives and by a general reading of the Swiss sport press.
