Storia dello Sport. Rivista di Storia Contemporanea, ISSN 2612-498X, is a scientific journal directed by Francesco Bonini, Patrizia Dogliani, and Sergio Giuntini, published by Clueb, promoted by the Società italiana di Storia dello Sport, the Università di Bologna, Università Lumsa of Rome, and the Université de Franche-Comté di Besaçon.

Storia dello Sport is included in the Anvur list of scientific journals for class 11. Storia dello Sport is included in the list of scientific journals in DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals)."

The journal has an annual frequency and accepts contributions in Spanish, French, English, Italian, and Portuguese dedicated to the history of contemporary sports. Contributions must be original and unpublished; therefore, they cannot have already been published, in full or in part, in other Italian or foreign journals.

Anyone interested in submitting a proposal can upload the Word file in the OJS space of the Journal, after registration here. Proposals should always be accompanied by a file containing the essay title in English, an abstract in English (max 150 words), three keywords in English, and a representative image of the text. The editorial guidelines to be followed for drafting the text are further detailed in the author guidelines.

The proposals can be submitted for publication in one of the sections that composed each issue of the journal:

Studi, which publishes essays presenting the results of ongoing research or in-depth analyses of historiographical themes of Journals's interests. Papers can take the form of short essays (max 25,000 characters, including notes) or long essays (max 55,000 characters, including notes). All essays must be accompanied by a bibliography containing exclusively the secondary sources used by the author.

Materiali, where contributions aimed at highlighting archives and primary sources or addressing specific methodological issues are placed (max 35,000 characters, including notes).

Libri, where book reviews dedicated to the history of sports are welcomed (3,000/5,000 characters).

Convegni,reports on conferences or other events/initiatives related to the history of sports (3,000/5,000 characters).

Reti,networks dedicated to the history of sports (3,000/5,000 characters).

Multimedia, where reviews of films, documentaries, exhibitions, and radio programs dedicated to the history of sports are welcomed (3,000/5,000 characters).

All submitted articles will undergo a peer review process with double-blind review. After an initial review by the editorial team, in order to at ensuring the coherence of the theme with the scientific direction and research lines proposed by the journal, as well as compliance with some minimum requirements of formal correctness, authors will be informed if the contribution is accepted for peer review. If accepted, the article, without the author's name, will be sent to two scholars with expertise in.

There are no author charges (commonly known as APCs) prior to publication, and no charge for any reader to download articles and reviews for their own scholarly use. Storia dello Sport does not, therefore, operate either a Gold or Green model of open access, but is free to all at any time and in perpetuity.
